Welcome to the Reception Class Page!
Here in Reception we are learning how to be good friends, independent learners and brave writers! We often discuss our problems together and always challenge ourselves in choosing time.
We do PE on a Monday afternoon with a Play Sport coach (mostly outside - bring trainers) and we do dance or yoga with Mrs Anstead on a Friday morning. This means we need our PE kits in school all week.
We also need reading books and logs in school each day as we race each other to the top of the reading rocket for that almighty termly prize!
Please book an appointment or catch a member of staff if you have any concerns or questions about your child.
Mrs Anstead (Blue Group key person and Class Teacher), Mrs Cowley (Red Group key person, ELSA and TA) and Miss Przylinska (Green group key person and TA)
WORLD NURSERY RHYME WEEK 2019
Reception enjoyed taking part in this year's World Nursery Rhyme Week. The children learned five nursery rhymes with actions: Incy Wincy Spider, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Row Row Row Your Boat, Two Little Dickie Birds and Down in the Jungle. They also played with small world toys and set ups relating to the rhymes, made spider webs from wool and painted cotton wool print sheep. On the Friday the children dressed up as their favourite nursery rhyme characters and parents and carers came to watch them perform the rhymes they had learned. We had lots of fun!
AN ENABLING ENVIRONMENT
The adults in Fox Hill Nursery and Reception are committed to providing an inspiring and enabling environment to support the learning and development of our youngest children. Here are some examples of enhancements in the Reception class which have been designed with the children's interests and next steps in minds.
